The proposed locking arrangement is intended to simplify the mechanism for vehicle door locks incorporating an anti-theft lock. All the locks are controlled from a single key position comprising cylinder lock taking two keys and making two revolutions. One key operates the normal locks, the second key, which makes the second turn, acts on the anti-theft bolts. Mechanical linkages associated with the lock positions act by rods (21,11) on a lock control unit (6). Operating the main lock moves the relevant rod (21) which acts on a switch (35,36) to start a motor (25). Through a worm gear the motor drives a pin (30) which moves a block (24) at the end of the rod (21) into the locked position. At the same time other switches acted on by the gear wheel (29) control the motors on all the other doors and give the locked condition. Operating the lock with the second key moves a bolt (25) on the end of the rod (11) connected to the cylinder lock. The bolt prevents any further movement of the operating block (24). At the same time a switch (38) actuates the motors on the other doors causing them to turn the gear (29) to a position in which these doors are also bolted.
