Dynamic compression tester for soil - has pressure transducers in steel receptacle for determining pore water pressure and total vertical and horizontal stresses

The device contains a steel receptacle for a soil sample, different drop wts. and measurement devices such as an accelerometer mounted on the drop wts., a pore water pressure sensor, and a wt. settling measurement distance dial gauge. The arrangement is suitable for measuring the effects w.r.t. total dynamic horizontal and vertical stress and pore water pressure. Pressure transducers mounted in recesses in the base and wall of the receptacle measure the total vertical and horizontal stresses in the soil sample directly. The pore water pressure transducer is mounted close to the container on a short connecting pipe. The accelerometer and pressure transducers are connected via separate channels to a common display device.
