The high alloy steel particles or spherical powders of superalloys or mixts. thereof are put in a steel capsule to give a pore volume of 20-35% of the total valume in the capsule, to a relative pore volume of Vp = 0.2-0.35. The capsule is closed and heated to over 900 deg.C. It is then compressed and undergoes a redn. in height given by equation (I) (where X = 0.6-1.2. Ho is the initial height, Hi the final height, Vp is the relative pore volume before deformation). The material is then compressed in another direction. |
