PURPOSE:To prevent generation of misprinting due to breakage of a type spoke, wear of a type or the like by a method wherein a memory memorizing a type striking of a printing wheel is provided to output an alarm signal when the number of striking times of the type is arrived at a predetermined number of times. CONSTITUTION:A read head 20 reads the number of striking times of each type 4 memorized in a magnetic tape 6 and outputs it to a control circuit CON. The control circuit CON memorizes the number of striking times into an address in the memory MEM, which is corresponding to the rotated position of each type 4 from a home position of the printing wheel 2. When the number of striking times of at least one type among respective types is arrived at the preset predetermined number of times, for example 1,000 times, the control circuit CON outputs the alarm signal. |
