The container is for an interchangeable tape cassette, and has a rectangular casing with an open front(11). A push-in open slide(2) is pushed in the front of the casing and receives the cassette. Slide(2) is in the form of a four sided frame having two sides which extend along the narrow sides of the casing. The frame is open towards the base of the casing so that it partially surrounds the cassette when the frame is lying on the base of the casing. A spring(3) is provided between the rear wall of the frame and the casing to urge the frame out of the casing a certain amount. When in the open position the frame protrudes from the casing obliquely leaving part of the cassette exposed.
