PURPOSE:To curtail the retrieval input process, while improving the confidentiality of information, by giving a password to a component of each hierarchy which classifies hierarchically an information file group, and limiting an accessible range in order of hierarchy. CONSTITUTION:When an ID number for specifying a retriever is inputted from a keyboard 4, a system control part 2 reads out passwords of each hierarchy which are stored in accordance with the ID number concerned of a separate retriever password storage part 7, for instance, a-i, u-e, ke-ko, sa-shi, and so-ta, and based on these passwords, from a separate subject password storage part 6, this retriever's accessible range is prescribed successively from the upper hierarchy. Also, based on the subject name of the lower layer which is determined, and binders B, C and E, the information files concerned (e), (f), (g), (h), (i), (k) and (l) are prescribed as retrievable information from a retrieval condition storage part 5. |
