<p>Particles are distributed on to a continuously moving carrier by an arrangement with (1) a number of successive rotating multiple- discs which mesh into each other and (2) a particles feeder with conveyor and distributing roller at the starting end of the series of discs; all discs are rotated in the same direction to pass down particles on top of them, the gaps between the discs on successive shafts progressively increase so that the fines fall through first on to the carrier, followed by medium and finally coarse particles. The discs are arranged in two groups, one for fines and one for the rest, the former are mounted above and sepd. from by a plate from the latter; a screen lies between the fines discs and the carrier to separate stray medium or coarse particles, this screen has an outlet on to the medium/coarse particle discs. System prevents medium-coarse particles from being mixed with fines, whether the latter are for top or bottom surface layers.</p> |
