<p>Plant for removing and collecting oil slicks floating on surface water comprises a buoyancy pontoon which has hinged frames, extending in cantilever fashion from both sides. Circular parallel discs in an axial alignment on the frames, which can be revolved, dip partly into the water level carrying the oil slick. The discs are of metal coated with a hydrophobic material such as plastic (PVC), or are made of plastic. Scrapers remove the adhering oil film into a collecting channel. Plant has high efficiency and requires little engineering effort. It is flexible in its application and can be used even in heavy seas.</p> |
