PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate for a sex pheromonal, substance in high yield, by the cross-coupling of a readily available Grignard reagent of a cis-3-alkenyl chloride with an alpha,omega-dibromoalkane as raw materials. CONSTITUTION:A Grignard reagent of a cis-3-alkenyl chloride expressed by formula I (R is 1-8C alkyl) as a raw material, is reacted with an alpha,omega-dibromoalkane expressed by the formula Br(CH2)nBr (n is an integer 3-10), preferably in the presence of LiCuCl4 in tetrahydrofuran, to give a cis-alkenyl bromide expressed by formula II. The alpha,omega-dibromoalkane is a readily available and economically inexpensive raw material. |
