PURPOSE:To provide a recording liquid for ink jet recording system, which has excellent discharge stability, long-term shelf stability, setting properties, clarity of printed image, water-resistance, light resistance, etc., containing a specified reactive dye, a water-soluble nitrogen-contg. cyclic compd. and water. CONSTITUTION:0.1-20wt% reactive dye (A) of the formula S-D-T-X [wherein S is a group capable of solubilizing a dye in water (e.g. sulfone group or carboxyl group; D is a dye base molecule selected from azo dyes, anthraquinone dyes and phthalocyanine dyes; T is a group for bonding a reactive group to the dye molecule and X is a reactive group with the proviso that T and X are each a group selected from radicals of formulas I, II, III, IV and V], 1-50wt% water-soluble nitrogen- contg. cyclic compd. (B) selected from 2-pyrrolidone, morpholine and N-methylmorpholine, and 10-95wt% water are mixed together. The pH of the mixt. is adjusted to 2-7 to produce the desired recording liquid. |
