Monolithic multilayer capacitors made by stacking dielectric layers and metallic electrode layers and consintering are described in which the electrode layers are made from non-precious transition metals which refractory and difficult to oxides, or their alloys. Specifically, the metals selected are IVA and IVB metals, and the dielectrics are Ba titanate modified by addition of a Pb and/or Bi salt, before firing to give the respective oxides. Sn oxide may also be present in the fired prod. Sintering is effected in an atmos. contg. volatile oxidn. of elements entering into the compsn. of the dielectric, Satisfactory capacitors can be mfd. without resorting to drastic conditions of oxygen concn. control in the atmosphere as in prior art.
|
