This invention on cooling box, which is combined with refractory materials, of refractory of a blast furnace and heat exchange device for cooling the wall aims at using the least quantity of cooling water per unit time, eleminating the most quantity of heat from the wall per unit time, minimizing pressure loss, cutting down the cost of the device, and maintaining the high speed of cooling water. The device is composed with the body of rotating type, the first wall for heat transfer, the second wall, the crooked wall having smooth surface, inlet for supplying tangentially heat transfer fluid to the body, and outlet for discharging it.
