The open folding box has a base flap and four side flaps. An additional flap (6,7) is attached to the outer length edge of two opposing side flaps (2,3) which has part sections (8,9) which can be folded out of the level of the flap and located close to their transverse edge. Additional flaps (16,17,18,19) are provided on the other two opposing side flaps (4,5) which in each case can be swivelled into the area of the coordinated part section capable of being folded out, with the folded out part sections (8,9,10,11) and the swivelling flaps (16,17,18,19) connectable to each other.
