<p>The indicator displays the min. spacing from the preceding vehicle in accordance with the vehicle speed and is actuated by the eye level position being marked by the driver, e.g. using a green spot. The indicator may have two markings lying on a common axis behind one another for indicating the exact eye level and the vertical position of the device relative to the line of sight, the device is pref. maintained at a distance of 60 cm from the eye. Pref. the marking is moved in accordance with the vehicle speed so that it hits the bumper of the car in front when the min. spacing is reached. The device can be adapted for different weather conditions in accordance with the revised braking distances.</p> |
