PURPOSE:To shorten the closing time of a solenoid operating device with an energizing coil having small volume and capacity by providing, for example, V-shaped recess on an armature and mounting a brake unit for urging a steel ball through a leaf spring only at the time of starting the energization of the solenoid operating device. CONSTITUTION:A V-shaped recess 12a is formed on a guide 12 secured to the opposite side of the armature 3 to a rod 3a, and a steel ball 13 is engaged with the recess via a leaf spring 14 at the opened position of the armature. Since the steel ball 13 is engaged with the recess at the initial time when a current flows through a coil when the energizing coil 2 is energized, the armature 3 will not move, but will move after the current increases larger than a predetermined value. Accordingly, after the steel ball is disengaged from the recess, it does not need large current due to the attraction of the armature. Thus, the maximum value of the energizing current can be reduced and the energizing time can be shortened with the same energizing coil as compared with the solenoid operating device having no brake unit. |
