<p>The engine has two rotary pistons (2,3) axially adjacent to each other on a common shaft. They have radially projecting lugs which extend axially beyond the pistons so that the lugs on the two pistons face each other and form working spaces which vary in volume as the pistons rotate at different speeds. The periphery of each lug has grooves in each of which there are three cylindrical plugs (22). Each plug has a recess which accommodates a sealing strip (20). In each seal formed in this way two of the strips (20) are angled and one is straight. This ensures both axial and radial sealing.</p> |
