PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of the correspondence table and make address conversion high-speed, by indexing the actual page correspondence table by the actual page number, which is obtained by hashing the virtual page number, to perform address conversion. CONSTITUTION:When the virtual memory address is set to register 17, hash mechanism 6 converts virtual page number P of register 17 to actual page number R, and the entry address of actual page correspondence table 7 is set to address register 8, and contents of the entry are read to data register 9. Numbers P in registers 9 and 17 are compared with each other by 10; and if they coincide with each other, signal SY is transmitted to actual page number determining circuit 15, and contents of register 8 are transferred to actual memory address register 18. Simultaneously, offset 0 of register 17 is transferred to register 18, and an actual memory address is obtained the paur of offset 0 and number R of register 8, thus completing conversion from the virtual memory address to the actual memory address. |
