PURPOSE:To prevent an ignition device from performing wrong operation, by almost perpendicularly crossing the magnetic flux sensing direction of a rotation signal generation means with the main magnetic flux axis of an ignition coil and placing the magnetism-sensitive portion of the rotation signal generation means nearly in the middle of the magnetic circuit on the main magnetic flux axis. CONSTITUTION:A rotation signal generation means 2, which detects the change in magnetic flux due to the rotation of a signal rotor 1 mounted on a rotary shaft 140 to produce an output signal and whose magnetic flux sensing direction is coincident with the radial direction of the signal rotor 1, is located almost in the middle of the magnetic circuit on the main axis of magnetic flux which is generated by energizing the primary winding of an ignition coil 4. The ignition coil 4 is almost prependicularly crossed with the magnetic flux sensing direction of the rotation signal generation means 2 and placed nearly in parallel with the rotary shaft 140. This results in keeping the leakage flux (a) of the ignition coil 4 from intersecting the magnetism-sensitive portion of the rotation signal generation means 2 to prevent an ignition device from performing wrong operation. |
