<p>IMPROVED BICYCLE FORK This improved bicycle fork is configured to prevent inadvertent separation of the wheel from the fork in the event that the axle retaining nuts become loose. To accomplish this, the fork legs each terminate in a slotted, qenerally planar axle receiving member. The bottom end of each such member, on at least one and preferably both sides of the slot, is bent slightly outwardly sufficient to catch and retain a loosened axle retaining nut, and thereby keep the wheel from becoming detached from the fork. The lateral extent of each such bend advantageously exceeds the axial displacement of an axle retaining nut resultant from loosening of the nut by one full turn on the axle threads.</p> |
