PURPOSE:To decrease the quantity of heat to be transferred in both end part directions of a heat roller and improve the utilization efficiency of the heat used for fixing by forming the wall thickness near both end parts of said roller thinner than the wall thickness of the other parts. CONSTITUTION:A heating roller 1 retains the same thickness as the wall thickness of the roller 1 in a paper passing part L for the purpose of reduction in temp. drop and uniformalization of temp. distributions. The end parts of the roller 1 also possess the wall thickness similar to that of the roller 1 in order to obtain pressure strength. On the other hand, in parts D, the wall thickness is decreased for a fixed width so that the axial heat conduction characteristics in the parts D are decreased. As a result, temp. rise is obtained quickly in the roller end parts B right after warming-up, whereby fixing performance may be improved. |
