The flying machine is based on the concept of an airscrew continuously withdrawing air from one end of a close-fitting casing to produce a pressure reduction, that end of the casing being open to atmosphere. The airscrew is located immediately above the base of the casing which is a short, wide cylinder open at the top. The machine can also be used for the production of thrust to propel motorcars, ships etc.
