<p>The protective cover ensures that play can take place immediately after rainfall, on a sports area out of doors, esp. a tennis court. This involves a watertight, but air-permeable sheet, or similar, stretched across the area in a tent shape. The sheet is unwound from one or more drums rotatably mounted along at least one side, and stretched across one or more support structures in the centre of the area, parallel to the drum. This can comprise two supports, and a cable stretched between their top end. Rainwater runs off at the side, and the cover can 'breathe'.</p> |
