PURPOSE:To prevent the fine-ground powder of the waste developer from scattering to each member of a copying machine by arranging a device so that the developer scraped off by a cleaning plate may be prevented from being spilled onto a precharger. CONSTITUTION:The upper sealing plate 110, lower sealing plate 111 and cleaning plate 113 of a cleaning device are constituted respectively independently and freely oscillatally and are made freely attachable to and detachable from a transfer drum 101. The upper sealing plate 110 is positioned uppermost than the other plates and is made of, for example, a polyester film. In, for example, a cleaning process, both the upper sealing plate 110 and lower sealing plate 113 are held in pressure contact with the transfer drum and the waste developer T on the circumferential surface of the transfer drum is rubbed off by the cleaning plate 113. However, the fine- ground powder rising at this time does not leak to the outside of a casing 121 because it is shielded by the upper, lower sealing plates 110, 111. |
