Pieces of sweetmeat of uniform size are made by a machine which applies a drop of a free running confectionery on a base where it is limited in its spread by a ring. After nuts, almonds, raisins, cokernuts etc. have been sprinkled over, a stamp is applied to spread the drop up to the ring before it is allowed to solidify. Sweetmeats, e.g. caramel, is dispensed through a nozzle in drops on a base with a detachable lining. A ring with a lining or PTFE and with a coolant channel is placed around the drop and pieces of almonds are sprinkled on it. A curved stamping die is then lowered over it to spread the drop to a uniform domed shape. This produces pieces of sweetmeat of the same wt. and the same shape, thereby facilitating the subsequent packaging by machine.
|
