Discharger for the sediment in a circular settling tank with discharge blades on arms rotating round a central column has the weight of the arms supported by vertical wheels or rollers moving round a circular track or tracks inset in the tank floor. The arms are driven from the column through horizontal rollers. The arms may have a central portion with two outer cantilever arms pivotally attached, with weight support rollers on both the central portion and the outer cantilevers, which will allow the unevenness in the tank floor. Alternatively the arms may be mounted on brackets engaging the central column. The central column is of lighter and simpler construction.
