<p>The stop, preventing inadvertent closure, has a plastics housing (1), fixed to the floor, a window sill, or a wall etc. and containing magnets (4,4a) abutting a stop face which is contacted by a magnetic stop plate (8) screwed to the door or window. The stop face is defined by a projecting nose through which a vertical pin (5) fits to hold the magnets (4,4a) and the magnetic field centring plates (3..3c) on either side of each of the magnets (4,4a) in position. The housing (1) fits over an adjustment block (6) screwed in position with a locating groove (6a) down one side into which a corresponding internal projection (2a) of the housing (1) fits. The stop is simple and compact, its housing (1) being aesthetically styled in accordance with domestic surroundings. It does not require any bulky clamping and release mechanism.</p> |
