<p>Meta-aryloxybenzaldehydes are prepared by treating a mixture of meta-aryloxybenzyl- and benzal halides with hexamethylenetetramine (or equivalent amounts of ammonia and formaldehyde) and hydrolyzing the resulting product under acid conditions.</p>
