<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to continuously mass-produce a silicone gel sheet in uniform thickness by a method wherein sheet-like molding material is covered with both upper and lower films and, then, rolled with pressure rolls to a predetermined thickness and finally treated by heating. CONSTITUTION:Kneaded silicone gel stock is deaerated in at least one deaeration tank 12 and transferred to a hopper 16 below the tank. The silicone gel stock is cast from a nozzle 17 horizontally onto a lower film 19 in the shape of a flat sheet-like molding material M in the predetermined thickness. In succession, an upper film 18 comes down ahead the nozzle 17 so as to join the lower film 19. Thence, the resultant sheet-like molding material M, which forms a three-layer structure together with the upper and lower films 18 and 19, passes further between forward pressure rolls 20 and 20. During the transfer with a belt conveyer 21, the rolled and drawn sheet-like molding material M is heated with a proper heating means provided in a heating tunnel 22. By the time that the material leaves the heating tunnel 22, the gelation of the material is completed, resulting in appearing on a working table 23 in a recovery section in the shape of a silicone gel sheet M'.</p> |
