Removing deposit from oyster shells - by high-frequency beating with non-round rotating body whilst supporting oysters on flexible surface

The arrangement is intended for removing deposits from the shells of shellfish such as oysters. The oysters are placed on a flexible support surface and the shells beaten with high frequency on their upturned faces. The shells may be cleaned by spraying after this operation. The support may be a driven flexible endless belt and have a number of beating elements arragned over it. Each element may consist of a rotating body with non-circular cross-section such as a link chain, which longitudinally extends across the belt at a short distance above it. Eliminates labour-intensive manual cleaning operation.
