Typographic printing inks comprise pigment dispersed in a non-aqueous medium comprising ethylene glycol, a dissolved water-insoluble acidic resin of acid number at least 100, and urea. In the preparation of the medium a resin of high acid number may be used and the medium heated to effect a 10 to 50% reduction thereof before adding the pigment. The ink may contain a water-soluble C3-8 glycol, a polyglycol, or a mono-alkyl ether thereof as co-solvent and various surfactants. Specified resins are various rosins and modified rosins and terpene and alkyd resins. They may be imine modified, e.g. with C2 or C3 alkylene imines or trialkylene phosphoramide or thiophosphoramide, or partially amidated with diamines or C2 or C3 alkanolamines.ALSO:Typographic printing inks comprise pigment dispersed in a non-aqueous medium comprising ethylene glycol, a dissolved water-insoluble acidic resin of acid number at least 100, and urea.
