The various components of the compressed air system are mounted together on a common support rail. The components include a filter (1), a pressure regulator (6) and a lubricator (8) which have an identical construction. Each body has two identical faces (13,14) having dovetailed joints (16), the two other faces (17,18) contain the housings for the securing plates (46). Filter and lubricator bowls (2,9) and caps (4,10) are provided with bayonet fixings. The components fit into each other with the aid of a joint plate (35) which has a double dovetail locating with the two components to be joined. When in place the securing plate (46) is fitted and held in place with a screw (45). End closure caps (11,12) fit over the outer ends of the assembly in the same way and incorporate the pipework connections. The whole assembly clips onto a mounting rail.
