The system has a device to move the outlet of the conveyor and the axis of rotation of the stack support periodically towards and away from one another. At least the end section of the conveyor pivots backwards and forwards about an axis of pivot largely parallel to the axis of rotation of the stack support. A position sensor measures the instantaneous pivot position of the column that forms the axis of pivot and that has the conveyor at the top and that is coupled to a reversible motor. The position sensor includes a potentiometer as electrical signal generator acted on by a moving part.
