Semi-permanent mould for pressed concrete building block - uses vertical ribs to stiffen sides and protects block during stack curing

The semi-permanent mould (1) is used in the manufacture of precast pressed building blocks accepting a load of concrete for pressing, and remaining in place during subsequent stack-curing and handling. It comprises an open box of rectangular or truncated pyramid form with or without a floor (8), using laminar vertical wall ribs (7) at definite centres. The ribs are external and may be at closer centres in the corner zones. Either or both edges may return externally square and then vertical (6) to connect to the external ends of the stiffening ribs. Partition plates may form the top and bottom faces of the blocks and the return may extend the full height.
