PURPOSE:To obtain an image pickup tube with good linearity and without graphic distortion at high yield with a simple means by providing one or more slits on the cylindrical wall of a cylindrical focussing electrode. CONSTITUTION:For example, four slits 14 of 0.5mm. wide are provided in parallel to a tube axis at an interval of 90 deg. on the cylindricial wall of 0.2mm. thick of a conical focussing electrode. This can control overcurrent even if the cylindrical electrode is thick and obtain an image pickup tube with good linearity and without graphic distortion at high yield and at low cost with an exceedingly simple means. |
