PURPOSE:To separate and remove solid particles having higher density than bean jam, e.g. minute sand particles from fresh bean jam, by passing slurry fresh bean jam through a cyclone under a pressure within a definite range. CONSTITUTION:Slurry of fresh bean jam is pumped from a washing tank 1 to a cyclone 4 with a pump 2 under a predetermined pressure. The minute particles such as sand particles, having higher density than bean jam particles are precipitated by the gyrative motion in the cyclone 4, and collected to a sand collector 6 through a valve 6, and the refined bean jam slurry free of foreign particles is exhausted through an outlet 7. The refined slurry thus obtained is dehydrated to afford the objective fresh bean jam. |
