PURPOSE:To avoid generation of the undesired wave for the signal ineffective period (blanking period) within a horizontal period of the video signal, by reducing the drain voltage to be applied to the drain electrode by an amount correspoding to nearly the intermediate value of the reset noise voltage. CONSTITUTION:The voltage is controlled by the voltage control circuit 17 for the signal supplied from the monostable multivibrator 15 to the drain electrode 5. When the signal of L-level is delivered from the vibrator 15, the signal having the voltage which is reduced by 1/2 the reset noise voltage and in the signal ineffective period is applied to the electrode 5. As a result, a shift of 1/2 the reset noise voltage is given to the voltage level in the signal ineffective period of the signal delivered from the CCD16. This output signal is made to pass through the low-pass filter and thus extracted by an amount equivalent to the necessary video signals.
