<p>PURPOSE:To form uniform surface treating films on glass substrates for a liq. crystal cell with high mass-producibility by using a soln. of an organometallic compound in a fluorochlorohydrocarbon solvent as a surface treating soln. CONSTITUTION:An organometallic compound such as butyl alcoholate of tin represented by formula Me(R)n (where Me is a metal or metalloid such as Al, Ti, Sn, B or P; R is an org. group such as alkyl or acryl; and n is the valence of Me) is dissolved in a fluorochlorohydrocarbon such as CCl3F or CCl2F-CCl2F to prepare a surface treating soln. Glass substrates are dipped in the soln. and pulled up to coat the substrate surfaces with the soln., which is then calcined to form treating films made of metal oxide.</p> |
