The stackable, box-shaped storage and/or transport container has side walls and floor made from wire mesh material. Corner posts have feet at one end, with their other ends fitted with stacking bars to permit stacking of several containers. The wire mesh side walls (11,12,13,14) have at both their upper and lower edges bends (17) extending parallel to the container floor (15) which in each case point to the bends of the opposite mesh wall. The bent sections are fitted with a wire mesh rod (19) and are bent back with their free edge against the mesh wall so that the bent sections when viewed in cross section enclose an area.
