The ceramic tile (1) may be used on internal walls, using a dishing of the external major face to contain alternative material (2) meeting the cladding or the decorative function. The dishing may have a trapezoidal profile when the tile is viewed in cross-section, filled with inlaid timber veneers (2) or marquetry, and formed by pressing the raw clay. Once the tile has been baked and has cooled down, the filling may be fixed in the dished zone.
