Duct material is clamped between a detachable ring and a pleated coupling strip with end tangential stretches. It provides a coupling for air ducts, without end rings, for cooling systems in underground mines and tunnels. The detachable ring (2) is pleated to match the strip (3), and fittable below the two duct ends (28,29) plugged together. The strip (3) sited outside on the duct ends, has its pleating (7-9) brought into engagement with that (4-6) of the ring, and clamped with its end faces close together. Downward-acting holders are fitted on a strip end, on both sides of the spindle.
