Open=end rotor spinning unit - has auxiliary equipment at the output producing yarn with a soft handle suitable for knitting machinery

Unit produces yarn with real twist which is drawn off through a spiral bore passage and then via a deflector into a false-twist unit. The yarn is held in a roller pair on the way to winding at the creel. In this manner the loose ends of fibres on the surface of the yarn are prised outwards. Pref. the spinning unit produces yarns with real twist in the rotor. This is extracted via a ceramic conical funnel device with a spirally formed interior along the yarn passage and retaining a real twist. A further device is implemented which has deflector pins first in one direction and then the other. At this stage some form of bent tube is applied and leading to the false-twist unit. This is a pneumatic device to twist the yarn surface in the opposite direction. The twist may also be applied in the same direction to produce yarn with an increased twist with the advantage of a higher speed of output. ADVANTAGE - Prodn. of yarn from an OE rotor is given a softer handle, suitable for knitting machines.
