PURPOSE:To make it possible to add the outline signal of the secondary differential form and obtain color pictures having a natural impression and a high vividness, by subtracting a prescribed narrow-band signal from the high-band signal to obtain high-band components of the luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:Signals corresponding to picture elements having the first, the second and the third spectral sensitivity characteristics are detected from the output signal of two-dimensional solid image pickup element 11 by sample hold circuits 17, 21 and 24 and LPFs 18, 22 and 25 respectively to obtain low-band components of the three-primary color signal. Meanwhile, the output of element 11 and signal GN obtained from the output, which is obtained by delaying this output by 1H, by circuits 17 and 18 are detected alternately for every one picture element by 13 and are caused to pass through LPF 29 having the cut-off frequency equal to or lower than the Nyquist frequency of this sampling frequency, and signal GN is subtracted in 31, and the output is caused to pass through HPF 32 having a characteristic higher than the cut-off point of LPF 18, thus obtaining high-band components of the luminance signal. |
