The pipe connection has a nipple on the end of the pipe (9) held in a profiled hole by a split ring (6), with corresponding grooves in the nipple and the hole. The ring is released by inserting a release tool into radial holes (7) in the fixed connector, compressing the ring. The groove in the nipple is of a narrower diameter than the ring to allow the ring to be compressed. The nipple is sealed in the fitting by a sliding seal (15) in a smooth bore. The end of the nipple is chamfered. The connection can be used many times before the seal is replaced.
