The storage area for LCD display images on photo-sensitive material uses a stroboscopic flash unit to achieve fast recording rates with improved quality definition. The LCD matrix (1) displays information generated by a central unit (2). The photosensitive material (3) is moved at a controlled rate under the LCD matrix and images are reproduced by electro static charges. Typically the display changes at a rate of 3Hz. A stroboscopic flash generator is cycled at the same frequency to generate light of sufficient intensity to effect transfer.
