Axial guidance and torque transmission between the parts is effected by balls (8) forming a rolling bearing (7). The inner part (2) comprises two separate components. A further tubular shaft part (11) is interposed between the outer and inner parts and is rigidly connected at one end to the component (2a) and at the other end is mounted in the end of an extension sleeve (1a) of the outer part (1) by a resilient ring (15). Longitudinal guidance is effected by splines (12) and grooves (13) in the additional tube (11). A resilient ring (18) in the end of this tube supports the column. The total sliding path of the telescopic parts is the sum of rolling path (A) and sliding path (B).
