<p>The cover is for use on vegetable trays, fruit baskets etc of wood, cardboard or plastic, and particularly for trays having wooden lugs extending above the sidewalls at the corners. It comprises a sheet of plastic (18) or similar supple material, and with a central covering surface (22) of the same size as the surface of the tray, together with openings (20) at the corners through which the lugs pass. The central surface is enclosed by an edge whose width is approximately equal to the tray height. Two opposite portions of the edge are folded against the tray sides, and are welded to two others against the ends along diagonal seams (38) at the corners.</p> |
