PURPOSE:To enable the surface processing of a round-rodlike workpiece and also a spherical surface processing by adding a rotary device rotating the workpiece outside a moving device which gives the relative movement to a wire electrode and the workpiece. CONSTITUTION:A wire guide 14a is fitted to the tip of an electrode-displacing device 14 and a wire electrode 3 is put through the guide 14a. Moreover, the electrode 3 can be inclined at an optional angle in the optional direction by making the device 14 operate. Next, while a workpiece 9 is rotated by rotating a spindle motor 8, the high voltage is impressed between the workpiece 9 and the electrode 3. And the prescribed part of the workpiece 9 is made to approach the electrode 3 by moving an X-Y table 6, spark discharge is generated between them, and thus the outer periphery of the workpiece 9 is finished to be cylindrical. |
