PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in dust removing efficiency and the reduction in the running costs of exhaust gas treatment by contacting an exhaust gas contg. NOx and SO2 gases and dusts with catalysts together with a reducing material to oxidize the SO2 and to reduce NOx then admitting the same into an electric dust collector. CONSTITUTION:A suitable amount of NH3 gas is admitted from an NH3 introducing part 11 into the exhaust gas containing NOx, SO2 and dusts of a boiler 1, and these are passed through a catalyst reaction part 7 disposed with the plate-shaped catalyst bodies 9 consisting in carrying the metal oxide comprising, for example, Ti and V, as its active main components on substrates made of stainless steel, into plural sheets parallel to the gas flow within a housing 8, whereby the NOx is reduced and decomposed to N2 and H2O and the SO2 is oxidized to SO3. The SO3 is adsorbed into the dusts or lowers the apparent resistivity by reacting with the specific components in the dusts. Hence, if this is admitted into an electric dust collector 3 at about 120-150 deg.C by way of an air heater 2, the dusts are effectively removed together with the SO3. |
