Laminated structure for arc quench chambers, esp. chamber walls, with layer(s) of insulating material, has >=2 different layers selected from (A) systems with high dielectric polarisability, (B) magneto-ceramic systems with magnetic properties and (C) cpd(S). releasing elements and/or cpds. which promote the quenching strongly under the influence of the electric arc. These layers are firmly bonded together. The laminate has partic. good quenching properties and can withstand very high thermal stresses without great loss of function capacility. Also, the formation of conductive deposits on the surface of the laminate is suppressed.
