PURPOSE:A high water content hydraulic fluid which is nonflammable and excellent in lubricity, prepared by mixing a specified water-soluble polymer and an oiliness improver. CONSTITUTION:The aqueous hydraulic fluid, water content 50-99.9wt%, is prepared by mixing water, an oiliness improver such as an aliphatic carboxylic acid (derivative) and a water-soluble polymer which is a polyoxyalkylene whose terminal hydroxyl groups are urethane-modified, represented by the formula, wherein Z is a bi- to octavalent residue of polyether-polyol derived from an active hydrogen- containing compound and an alkylene oxide (the polyether chain contains 20- 100wt% of oxyethylene groups), A is a bivalent hydrocarbly group, Y is a mono- to tetravalent residue of active hydrogen-containing polyether-polyol (the polyether chain has 100wt% of oxyethylene groups) and m is 2-8. |
